Dr. Heidi Stricker-Ward

Dr. Heidi Stricker-Ward was raised in Woodward, Oklahoma. She received her bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in zoology from the University of Oklahoma in 2000 and her PhD in Molecular Cell Biology in 2005. Her doctoral research focused on characterizing genetic eye diseases and developing therapeutic interventions for the diseases. Heidi entered the veterinary program at Oklahoma State University for Veterinary Health Sciences 10 days after receiving her PhD in 2005. While a veterinary student, she conducted research at the Lung Biology and Toxicology Laboratory and worked as a technician at the Oklahoma Animal Disease Diagnostics Laboratory in the Bacteriology Laboratory. After receiving her DVM in 2009, Dr. Ward moved to Billings to be closer to her sister who lives in Red Lodge, MT. Dr. Ward is particularly interested in infectious disease and immunology. She currently lives in the Heights area of Billings with her husband, James, and their dogs, Katie and Ivan. Her hobbies include attending rodeo events and singing.
