New at Best Friends - Puppy Socialization Parties!
Cost: Free for our clients.
Who: Puppies 8-16 weeks old that are healthy and up to date on vaccines.
What: Puppy Socialization Party - The goal of the parties are to provide clients with the opportunity to let their puppies play and interact with each other off leash, with supervision.
Where: Best Friends Animal Hospital main lobby.
When: Monday nights, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.
Why: Everyone wants a pleasant, gentle dog that is a joy to be around. Why not start planning now for the future of your puppy? Socialization of puppies to a variety of things is often overlooked until problems arise. Perhaps owners want to provide this socialization but have no access to a good, controlled environment where they feel comfortable letting their puppy play. Often the fear of contagious disease has kept puppies on a short leash and sheltered from experiencing a variety of stimuli. Puppies of all ages benefit from early socialization, resulting in more confident dogs and less fear aggression later in life. Experts believe that the critical period of socialization is from 3 to 12 weeks. Even before a structured puppy class, they need to experience veterinary visits, interaction with other dogs/puppies, and other people and strange objects without harm. Our goal is to provide this delightful opportunity to our clients for off-leash play.
