Pet in the Spotlight - Lady
"Lady"
Lady is a beautiful 11 year old Sheltie. She was recently diagnosed with bladder stones AND with a liver tumor called a hepatocellular carcinoma. Amazingly, Lady underwent abdominal surgery to remove the affected portion of her liver and, at the same time, the bladder stones were successfully removed. Thus far she has recovered well and has been given a good prognosis. Fortunately, the liver tumor type rarely spreads to other parts of the body, but she will be monitored closely for this. As for the bladder stones, her owners are working to prevent recurrence by strictly adhering to a diet that prevents formation. As you can see, Lady is an amazing little dog and deserves the "spotlight" for her great attitude despite multiple medical obstacles.
